Robert Hascall

Vice President for Campus Services

Mr. Bob Hascall is the Vice President who oversees Campus Services. This group comprises over 800 dedicated, diverse, and hard working individuals who provide campus planning, project management, building maintenance, grounds and hardscape services for Emory University's main campus, as well as the Briarcliff and Clairmont sites. The organization also includes parking management, fire safety, alternative transportation services, and the Emory Police Department.

Campus Services' strategic goal is to continue to be the facilities service provider of choice for the Emory community, while creating an organizational culture founded on respect, integrity, adaptability, openness and caring. The organization is also firmly committed to growing the campus in a way that is environmentally sensitive, while maintaining its beauty and quality for the future.

In May 2004, the Facilities Management Division, which has since been integrated into Campus Services, received the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers highest institutional honor, The Award for Excellence in Facilities Management with the citation that Emory had not only met, but in some categories exceeded the established requirements to qualify for the award.

Mr. Hascall came to Emory in 1997 in his current position. Before joining Emory to lead the organization formerly known as Facilities Management, Mr. Hascall worked as the University of Southern California where he served as the Associate Vice President for Facilities Planning & Management for eight years. In 2005, Emory's Facilities Management Division was expanded to include several other functional areas and was renamed Campus Services. At that time, Bob was promoted to full Vice President overseeing all areas.

Mr. Hascall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and has done graduate work in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration. He is a registered professional engineer who has practiced in that profession with both electrical contractors and consulting engineering firms. He is the author of several academic and professional publications and is the recipient of a number of awards for work in his field. Bob has lectured extensively on the topics of Servant Leadership, Visioning, Organizational Transformation and Continuous Improvement. He is a trained Stephen Minister and is involved in mentoring and coaching promising leaders in facilities management as well as in other Emory organizations.
