Privacy and Security Policy regarding information submitted to Campus Plan Update and Campus Strategic Planning web sites.

The Emory University Campus Plan Update and Strategic Planning web sites (http://www.fm.emory.edu/campusplan/ and http://www.admin.emory.edu/StrategicPlan/) are intended to inform the broader Emory community, including staff, faculty, students and the general public, about the progress of ongoing planning efforts at the university. These sites are also designed to facilitate community discussion as well as to gather input useful for planning decisions.

Information submitted to these sites by any means, especially via web form or by email, may be publicly posted on the site's "Comments" section. Whenever comments are posted, the sender's name and affiliation (or lack thereof) with Emory will be noted. Email addresses will not be displayed.

Comments submitted by the sites' web forms require an Emory Network ID and password, and will automatically be posted immediately. Comments submitted by email will be reviewed for appropriateness and then posted. Comments submitted by web form may be edited or deleted after posting. Regardless of the method by which a comment is submitted, forum moderators will delete or modify posts only for malicious, libelous, obscene or profane content, at their sole discretion.

Access to these sites is secured with industry-standard SSL encryption to prevent user names, passwords and other information from being intercepted in transit. This is not an absolute guarantee of security or privacy however. Transactions with the web server are logged, which records the user's originating network address (IP number) and other information which may include cookies or login user identification (user name). This information will be used only in the aggregate for site traffic analysis. Such information will be shared internally at Emory University only by employees or faculty with legitimate need to use the information, and will not be disclosed to any third party outside Emory University except as may be required by law.

To protect against automated attacks, Emory will not be obligated to post anonymous or unsigned comments submitted via email, or otherwise suspicious or repetitive posts, and reserves the right to disregard any email for any reason.

Although login is required to post a comment via the online forms, access to view these comments is open. Anyone on the Internet may view them.

If you send email the Emory Strategic Planning or Campus Plan Update project teams but do NOT wish for your comment or question to be posted, you must indicate this in the content of your message.

By submitting information to these web sites, you agree to release all claim of ownership or copyright. All content becomes the property of Emory University, without exception or exclusion.

You agree to hold harmless and to indemnify Emory University for consequence of any legal action arising from information, content, or data you post or send to these sites.
